That is one of the many things that my sons Brad and Matthew learned when they earned their Junior Ranger and Junior Scientist badges at Yellowstone National Park.  Matthew got his Junior Ranger badge in both Yellowstone and Arches National Parks, and Brad earned a Junior Scientist badge at Yellowstone.  We just got back from visiting Yellowstone, Grand Teton, Arches and Glacier National Parks, and the boys’ badges were a fun way to learn more about the areas.  We put over 5000 miles on the car, went through 8 states and hiked several miles per day. All four of us love to explore new regions, so this was a perfect summer vacation for us.

Here are a few images from our trip.

There were some incredible waterfalls in Yellowstone and Glacier.  As I have mentioned in previous newsletters, one way to motivate me to hike is to find trails with waterfalls at the end. James is always trying to get the rest of us to hike new trails. It’s  great way for us to be together. I definitely need to exercise more in between our trips, so I can keep up.

This month’s article is on an inventive way to keep aging family members close by in order to better care for them.

The first person to correctly answer the black or blue water question by commenting here will win dinner for 2 at Giuseppe’s.  I will post the answer to the question next month along with the name of the winner.
