The Vial of Life is a free program designed to give emergency personnel the information they need to care for you in an emergency.  It is designed to speak for you when you can’t speak for yourself. The vial contains important medical information that can assist emergency personnel in administering the proper medical treatment.

Every person should have a Vial of Life form filled out. In particular, seniors need this because of their constant medical changes and medications. The vial can be placed on your refrigerator, where emergency medical personnel are trained to look for this information.  It is also helpful because people in emergencies find it hard to remember the information that emergency personnel needs.  The emergency personnel needs to know the medicines you are taking, what illnesses you have, what is your normal blood pressure, do you speak English, do you have a hearing aid and do you wear glasses.  For more information, go to www.vialoflife.com.

The vial is helpful to have in addition to the document emergency card that provides emergency personnel with copies of my client’s medical documents.  This allows them to know how to contact your family members.
