Coleton Guidry knew his calling in life was to be an attorney. He also knew that, although he would always be loyal to his hometown in Louisiana, his next stop after graduating from the esteemed LSU Paul M. Hebert Law Center would need to be Texas.

So much so that when he and his eventual wife, Savanna, went out on their first date, he wasted no time announcing his intentions.

“I told her, ‘I’m going to Texas, and you are welcome to come with me,’” he said with a smile.

The rest, as they say, is history. Not only did the happy couple get married and quickly move to the Lone Star State to start their new life together in 2023, but after a brief albeit successful stint at a Dallas-based family law firm, Coleton joined our growing and compassionate team of estate planning and elder law attorneys at Leigh Hilton PLLC. In doing so, he truly believes he has found his new home.

“My goal is to be here for as long as they’ll have me and gain as much experience as possible,” he said.

Coleton is the first in his family to become a lawyer, a dream job he hopes to make the most of as he gets to know our loyal clients and works closely with them on matters that are very important to them and their families. Estate planning is one of the most important gifts a person can provide to their family, but unraveling that often complex web in a way that makes sense and allows you to express your wishes clearly and effectively is challenging without the right team of attorneys in your corner. Coleton’s job is to add even more value to our collaborative approach, working one-on-one with clients throughout the process to refine the details of what they want included in their wills and trusts, and create a strategy that best suits their unique needs.

When he’s not working, Coleton said he enjoys watching and playing sports, squeezing in a few rounds of golf whenever possible, spending as much time as he can with Savanna, and developing stronger relationships with his new team at work.
