Chris Jones has made it his mission throughout his distinguished legal career to deliver real value to his clients, backed, of course, by decades of experience and a reputation for providing compassionate and strategic guidance. Yet for all he has accomplished over the years, one area of the law has always been slightly more in the background than he would have liked. That is, until now. Chris joined our team of attorneys at Leigh Hilton PLLC in June 2025 and is embracing the opportunity to focus more deeply on estate planning and family transition planning for businesses. 

This new chapter in what has amounted to over three decades of loyal service allows Chris to dive into matters that align perfectly with his strengths—thoughtful communication and helping families protect what matters most.

“I’ve worked on estate planning matters tangentially over the years, and this is a perfect opportunity to do more of that for a well-run firm that is very detailed and efficient in what they do,” Chris said. “I enjoy taking what can often be complex issues and explaining them in such a way that the clients understand and feel comfortable moving forward.”

Chris’ wealth of experience as an attorney is a welcome addition to our growing team. A native of Fort Worth, he earned undergraduate degrees in accounting and business (with a minor in economics) from Centenary College in Shreveport before securing his legal degree from the University of Texas at Austin School of Law in 1995. His career started with Price Waterhouse Coopers as a tax attorney from 1995 to 1999. From there, he had a successful stint at Crady, Jewett, McCulley & Houren law firm before venturing out with his own practice in 2014. 

With both firms, he focused on tax and business transaction law while also helping with wills, trusts, and other estate planning tools.

When he’s not working, Chris enjoys cooking, reading, traveling, and spending quality time with his fiancée, Deanna, who is quite the accomplished baker and owns her store in Keller. Chris also has two college-age children, Dylan and Vivian, whom he looks forward to seeing as often as possible.
