In this get-to-know-you series, we’re asking each of our fantastic team members to tell us a little about themselves, and why they love serving you—our clients. Plus, we know it always helps to put a face (and a personality) with a name! They’re stellar people. We know you’ll agree!

Hi! I’m Client Intake and Experience Coordinator Maggie Baucom. I was born in Amarillo and raised in a town called Memphis, TX. I attended the University of North Texas and graduated in May 2018 with a degree in International Studies.

I really love people, and have always had a desire to help people. That’s why I love working on Leigh’s team. I love that I’m the first person people speak to when they walk in the door. I try to make everyone feel confident and comfortable choosing Leigh Hilton, PLLC to protect their family.

My co-workers are one of the biggest perks to working here—we all get along very well. We truly work as team, and everyone is willing to help each other out when needed.

The thing I’m most looking forward to this year is my wedding to Nik in October! He’s my favorite person. It really doesn’t matter what we are doing together, it’s always a blast. Sometimes the weeks are just so hectic that we don’t really get to enjoy each other’s company, so the weekend are our time to unwind and spend time with each other.

Together, we own two dogs, Heinz and Stiles, who we consider to be our children for now. I grew up with a large blended family: five sisters and two brothers. My nieces and nephews are the best part of my life, and they can make me smile even on the worst days.

As far as hobbies go, I love to read and travel. Since I just graduated college and I have been focused on building my career, I haven’t been able to travel as often as I’d like. But if money and time weren’t an issue, I’d travel the entire globe!

My favorite place on the planet is much closer to home. In fact, it is home. It’s my dad’s ranch. When we were little, my sisters and I would spend hours playing outside while my dad worked. Cows are also my favorite animal, so getting to love on the herd is a plus.

That was my first job ever—helping my dad build fences and tend cattle. After I arrived at college, I worked part-time for a local doctor while attending school and I appreciate him more than he knows. He was the first adult to treat me like an adult, which made me grow up and mature.

As far as life influencers go, my little sister inspires me the most. She’s an incredible woman. I know that little sisters normally look up to their big sisters, but I truly do look up to her. She has always been a rock in my life.

She tells me when I am wrong, but never lets me forget when I succeed. She’s kindhearted and understanding in a way I wish all people could be. She keeps me grounded and helps me reach for the stars at the same time. She’s my very best friend.
