In this “get-to-know-you” series, we’re asking each of our fantastic team members to tell us a little about themselves. Plus, we know it always helps to put a face (and a personality) with a name! They’re stellar people. We know you’ll agree!

Hi! I’m Christina Esquivel, Business Manager at Leigh Hilton since 2017. My favorite aspect of working here is knowing our clients will leave with peace of mind, even during difficult times. Plus, I love my team!

I’m a graduate of the University of North Texas, where I dual-majored in Art History and Art Education. I met my husband, AJ, in 2006 while I was attending UNT and we were married on 09/10/11 at the Little Chapel in The Woods on Texas Woman’s Campus.

Although I didn’t grow up in Denton, I consider Denton my hometown. When I was born my dad was a pastor in Era, TX and the closest hospital to them was Flow Memorial in Denton. We moved to Temple, TX just before my first birthday and I graduated high school from Temple High School. My first apartment in Denton, while attending UNT, was CityParc Apartments. Which stands where Flow Memorial once stood. So, I have literally been full circle in life.

My husband and I recently became foster parents. This is something we’ve wanted to do for a long time. We both feel that this is our true calling and are blessed that we are able to love and care for children during a difficult season in their life. And right now, we have the most precious baby boy staying with us.

When I’m not working or foster-momming, I enjoy reading and watching movies. I love fantasy and thriller books and enjoy a good romantic comedy or action movie. If money was not an issue, I would travel more. But in reality, I’d probably catch up on sleep first—babies keep you up most of the night!

My husband and I are also active in our church, Journey Fellowship, and we volunteer through various avenues there. We’re active in foster care groups and are always looking for ways to help kids and families. We also volunteer and advocate for Camp El Tesoro De La Vida, a grief camp for kids who’ve lost a loved one.

When it comes to where I draw my strength and inspiration, I’d have to say my parents are the most influential people in my life. My dad was a minister in Temple, TX and his drive and faith helped instill in me a passion for helping others. My mom is one of the strongest and most generous people I know. She is always willing to help out, even if it means doing laundry, painting a room, or making baked goods—and she makes the best cookies ever!

This year, I’m most looking forward to a few things. Professionally, I am excited to see Leigh Hilton, PLLC grow and our team take on new adventures. Personally, we have a big trip planned to Walt Disney World in December. We’re getting to take our nieces for their first trip! I can’t wait to see the magic come alive through their eyes.
