If you were to ask 10 people what are their least favorite tasks to do while at work, at least nine would say they don’t enjoy having to deal with a lot of paperwork. You really can’t blame them, either. Pushing paper all day isn’t most people’s idea of fun. But at Leigh Hilton PLLC, we found the one out of those 10 who loves paperwork and lots of it.

Meet our administrative assistant, Melody. Melody came to us in March and stood out for a variety of reasons, perhaps none more than her willingness to take on any assignment we give her, including keeping our files in order.

“Oh, I love paperwork. My husband says I’m crazy, but I really do,” Melody said. “I love dealing with papers, researching stuff, scanning, printing, etc. And that is a good thing since I’m basically in charge of putting all of the binders together and making everything we do look nice and professional. Leigh likes things a very specific way, and it makes me feel good that I can do all of those things and help represent the firm in the best possible way.”

Melody has lived in the Dallas-Fort Worth area for the last 14 years and recently left a lengthy career in law enforcement.  She said that while she enjoyed that time in her career, she wanted to understand the other side of the law. Leigh Hilton was the perfect setting for that.

Now that the office is open again, and things are picking up, we are glad to have Melody making us look good from an administrative standpoint. When she’s not working, Melody loves to crochet and read. But mostly, she just loves her job.

“This is basically my dream job,” she said. “I will tell you that I’m 52, and it has taken me this long to get to my dream job. It’s a small firm and mostly run by women. It’s very professional, but also laid back. And I love that combination. I’m just extremely appreciative of them for giving me a chance to work here.”
