Spend five minutes talking to our receptionist Amanda Gosdin, and you’ll be bowled over by a slew of interesting facts.

For example, how many people do you know who are a two-time first runner-up for Rodeo Queen at the North Texas State Fair and Rodeo? Our Amanda is! She’s also the only person we know whose entire family celebrates their respective birthdays in September. Her son Dalton’s is on the 7th, Amanda’s is on the 10th, her daughter Carissa celebrates hers on the 15th, and Amanda’s husband Brandon’s birthday is on the 17th.

“We’re all within two weeks,” Amanda said with a laugh. “My son was born on the seventh, and my daughter was born the year before on the 15th, but Dalton came before her first birthday. So for eight days each year, they’re the same age.”

A native of Denton, Amanda and her family now live in Sanger with their horses. But when she’s not spending time with them, she’s found a second home here at Leigh Hilton PLLC. 

As our newest receptionist, Amanda does everything from answering phones and greeting clients to sending emails, scanning and filing paperwork, and scheduling appointments. Clients who have met her already all agree that her personality and smile are infectious, and she can’t wait to meet you, too. She really is a pro at what she does, having previously worked as a receptionist for a trucking company and as a police dispatcher.

“People ask, and I always say that I’ve honestly done a little bit of everything,” Amanda added.

She’s not lying. Here are a few more interesting facts about Amanda. She and her brother were the first brother-sister cheerleader combo at nearby Ryan High School. She’s also a self-proclaimed busy person who can’t sit still to save her life. It’s simply in her nature to stay busy, and a perfect example of that was when she chose to start an in-home daycare after having Carissa and Dalton.

“I tried to be a stay-at-home mom, but I found myself getting bored. People started asking about daycare, so I did it to help them and keep myself from going crazy. Plus, I just have a passion for kids and people. When I stopped doing the daycare, I thought, ‘I’ll just enjoy this time.’ But come to find out, I just have to be busy. I loved the idea of working at Leigh Hilton because it’s fast-paced, and there is a lot of multi-tasking. And I’m a people person. I just love helping people, and it sounded like an amazing opportunity. I like it here and hope to fit in and become part of their family.”
